Guest Jury Duty Food Blogger Mae Sander Weighs in on Reasonable Doubt

Mae Sander has directed my attention to a linguistics blog that she strongly recommends, and specifically the following posts by forensic linguist David Mellinkoff (author of Language and the Law):

("Reasonable Doubt about Reasonable Doubt")

("Reasonable Doubt versus Firmly Convinced")

The Language Log is the linguistics blog of The University of Pennsylvania.

Food-blogger Mae claims not to be a mystery maven, but it seems to me that she knows a great deal about courtroom drama. (Visit her at http://maefood.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html where she seems to be California Dreamin'. From my cave in ice-and-snow-covered northern Illinois, it sure looks like a dream to me.)

Thanks for the kind words! I reread an old Agatha Christie mystery recently and it is striking how her characters are always having some tea, breakfast, or just a biscuit while the mystery goes on. Yes, I guess I'm quite a fan of crime stories.
