The Library Cop Meets The Juror

My favorite Seinfeld episode is “The Library” (1991), in which “Mr. Bookman, the library cop (Philip Baker Hall),” hunts down Jerry to collect a 20-year-old fine for Henry Miller’s Tropic of Cancer, allegedly never returned to the library.

Here’s a YouTube clip from the episode:

I have to find a place for Mr. Bookman in the sequel to THE JUROR HANGS. Librarian Miss T. Iris Ginge will encounter the young Bookman in 1953 in the stacks at Pirie Memorial Library in Hyde Park, where she catches him stealing a book. The experience will reform the young “joy boy.” He will learn the value of literacy and vow to dedicate his life to protecting books from “young punks” like Seinfeld.

(Yes, a juror is hung in the THE JUROR HANGS: a one-armed war vet is found hung in his suburban garage after a mistrial is declared.)

THE JUROR HANGS is available for the iPhone through the STANZA app catalog: scroll to Smashwords. Please take a look.
