Can this possibly be Constitutional?
The Washington Post reports today that bloggers can be fined $11,000 by the FTC for reviewing a book they receive for free from the author or publisher: “Bloggers, Research Firms Must Cite Ties to Advertisers.”
My jaw has dropped.
A Call to Lawyer/Authors
If you are a lawyer and an author either of a legal thriller or of books about jurors, please give me a gift of your book. I will review it. I will not promise to review it positively, but you know what they say, “There’s no such thing as bad publicity.” All I ask of you in return for the review (besides the free gift of a book) is that you will assist me in my court case opposing any such fine.
